Tiaras and Trinkets on Tuesdays (Queen Gloria's Copy of Historic Tiara)

At the Swann/Fulco D'Este wedding on Saturday we had a pleasant surprise in the area of jewellery worn by guests. Queen Gloria of Normandia sported a never before worn tiara that resembled a Kent Family heirloom thought long lost.

The tiara, seen above caught our eye for the fact that Queen Gloria had never worn it before.

A quick glance a a historic photo (above) of her grandmother showed that it may indeed have been the thought lost Kent family heirloom.

This archive photo of the lost tiara indeed shows the exact resemblance except for a row of diamonds added to the base later. However the Normandian Royal Palace denied that the tiara was the original but rather a copy and a copy of the tiara as it originally was without the base of diamonds. Queen Gloria apparently ordered some of her own private old jewellery melted down recently in order to make it. The tiara, being of a slightly more modest scale than those Queen Gloria prefers to wear might be planning ahead for the day the Crown Prince of Normandia gains a wife. In any event this very pretty sparkler makes a pleasant contribution to our tiara watching.
