Breaking News (Pre-Coronation Imperial Family Banquet)

Today we feature our second post since our previous one unofficially announced what was essentially the first post of Coronation Week. This week has seen the influx to the city of Londinium of many diplomatic VIP's, Heads of State and Royalty from the world over to attend the Imperial Coronation.

The Duke of Swann, cousin of the Emperor, flew in on Tuesday with a small plane and minimal security.

The King of Syldavia's official car was also spotted by photographers yesterday making it's way from the airport. All these arrivals do count as State Visits but are not individually given a full State Reception due to the protocol surrounding the Imperial Coronation

Another sign of a foreign Royal presence in Londinium has been spotted by a paparazzi photographer. The raised Royal Standard of the Grand Duke of Hanoveria at the Hanoverian Embassy signifies that His Royal Highness Grand Duke George is in residence.

Among the official dignitaries descending on Londinium the new Emperor has many close family ties. As such the public event of the upcoming coronation is also an intimate family celebration. For this purpose the Emperor hosted a private function for his direct family at the Aldarian Palace last night. The Imperial Family Banquet was allowed media coverage although the invited guests only included the Emperor's immediate family. An entirely separate Coronation Banquet in honour of all the diplomatic VIP's is to be held after the coronation ceremony on Saturday evening but will be allowed no media access.

The Aldarian Palace has not seen glamour on par with the Imperial Family Banquet since before the 96 Revolution. A happy mood has now begun to entirely wipe away the bitter memories of the past for the entire Scot-Britanian people. This private banquet set the tone for what is to be a most remarkable weekend of festivities. In the photo above we see the members of the Emperor's Family arriving at last night's event.

Her Imperial Highness Princess Augusta arrived with the Duke of Swann. Her Alison Couture dress was perfectly complimented by her ruby parure.

Princess Kirsten Youssopoff  arrived with her cousin the Duke of Banbury as her very busy husband was only to join the family on Sunday after the coronation.

Prince Dillon, the Heriditary Prince of Swann arrived with his aunt and uncle.

The Arch Duke and Arch Duchess of Fulco D'Este. The Arch Duchess poignantly chose to wear a necklace that belonged to Empress Crystobel in honour of her aunt's memory.

The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Hanoveria at right followed by the King and Queen of Syldavia ascend the staircase of the entrance hall to the Aldarian Palace to meet their cousin the new Emperor.

Queen Maxima looked radiant in a copper dress by Hilegonda Couture and Yellow diamonds.

Grand Duchess Alice chose white and the Hanoverian Aquamarines.

Their Imperial Majesties were decidedly happy to welcome their family as guests on this significant and intimate dinner.

Empress Odeliah looked positively majestic in the Crown Amethyst Parure and Stephanie Couture dress.

Protocol dictated the men bow and the ladies curtsy before the Imperial Couple. Aside from these small formalities the evening was a very relaxed affair.

The banquet table was set with the Imperial dinner service last used at the coronation of the previous Emperor and Empress.

A family portrait photo opportunity availed itself for posterity.

After the formalities and dinner the guests danced the night away.

The Empress sported an up-do for the first time in public and it truly did the Crown Aquamarines justice.

The Grand Duchess of hanoveria was also wearing Stephanie Couture in true Imperial style.

The jovial relaxed mood was genuinely celebratory for this intrinsically familial event and historic victory over the tragedies of the revolution.

Even the unmarried Duke of Swann got to take on the dance floor with his aunt-in-law, Princess Augusta.

Today, as we report, was declared a bank holiday in advance of Saturday's Coronation Celebration. Our next three posts will be our Saturday feature on the coronation ceremony itself. The Coronation Banquet will receive no media coverage to allow for the VIP guests a respite after this weeks stringent media coverage. We can now but wait excitedly for the happy day.

What's Up Wednesday (Arcwhite State Visit to Swann)

Lady Arcwhite has been one of very few to have often made headlines recently and the only other Royal giving her a run for her money has been the Duke of Swann who also has seen much publicity in the last few weeks. To top it all the two are featured together in today's post. On Friday the 6th of Sept, Lady Arcwhite arrived in Swann for her belated two day long State Visit. The first Arcwhite Head of State to set foot on Swanobian soil for over 600 years, Lady Arcwhite accepted the friendly welcome in response to the Duke of Swann's State Vistit in 2012. Friendly relations have been cemented by the 2012 Treaty of Avalon and a long overdue State Visit to Swann was delayed even further by the recent tragic death of Empress Crystobel.

The unmistakable State Airplane carrying Lady Arcwhite cuts through Swanobian airspace as it came in for its landing.

Lady Arcwhite was welcomed officially by the Duke of Swann's personal secretary and then ushered to a short press conference. From there Lady Arcwhite was taken under high security to the Royal Palace for the State Banquet where she was to meet with the Duke of Swann for the first time on this trip. Some protests from far right groups who are against the new treaty did occur on the way to the palace.

The State Banquet in celebration of Lady Arcwhite's visit was held in the Great Hall of Duke's Court Palace, the Duke of Swann's official residence. Extensive photo opportunities and a press conference was allowed just before the guests were seated to dinner.

The preeminent attendees at the banquet, the Duke of Swann and his guest of honour, Lady Arcwhite both looked the part in accordance with their status. The dress code was formal but not 'ball gown" level.

Other guests included the Duke of Swann's sister and her fiance and Lady Arcwhite was accompanied by her niece Drealle Mormaer.

The table setting for the host the Duke of Swann used the very famous and historic Swann Cutlery. The solid silver service embellished with crowns is an official part of the Swanobian Crown Jewels.

The Arch Duke Otto Von Fulco D'Este with his fiance Princess Marie-Elizabeth of Swann symbolically wearing jewellery from the collection of her future husband.

Lady Arcwhite cut a stark figure as is her style wearing her imposing tiara paired with a suite of black diamonds.

The full compliment of guests, as usual pose for a press group photo just before dinner. With this the process of friendship has been totally formalized between Swann and Arcwhite. Hopefully for the good.

Memory Monday (Duke of Swann's Rolls Royce Tour Part 1 Franconia, Romagna and Reichenthal)

After the Duke of Swann found his great grandfather's lost and forgotten Rolls Royce in an abandoned warehouse belonging to his cousin in Hanoveria, he decided to have it repaired and to take it on a "road-trip" style tour of Europa with the intent on finishing in Muren. Here the car was to be entered into the Sorgenfrei Castle Museum, partly as a showpiece and also to be used for weddings held at the Castle that belongs to his other cousin, the Crown Prince Imperial. Prince Daniel was actually on the first league of the trip in Franconia  when the news came of the shocking death of his aunt Empress Crystobel. The assassination of the Empress Crystobel left the entire Europa in aghast and the Duke of Swann, as her nephew, went to be with the family in urgency. Thus the road trip was belated and only resumed on the weekend of the 10th of August.

The tour began in Hanoveria, took a massive round trip through Franconia where Prince Daniel visited wine farms and historic castles. Then followed the first "official"stop in Romagna where the Duke of Swann visited the Duchess Di Giorgio. The good friends had some business to discuss but mainly the purpose of the visit was to give the Duchess' media image an "official" boost as her public profile increases in her native land.

From there the Duke zipped through a bit of Syldavia and visited his friend the Grand Duke of Reichernthal. Here the Duke also had personal reasons for visiting but as far as officiality goes was needed to arbitrate a political tension that arose between the Grand Duke and his aunt Princess Sonja. The contention was so serious that it threatened Reichenthal's inclusion in the Syldavian Electorate. It was amicably resolved and as we know the establishment of the Syldavian Electorate is now old news.

Finally the tour stopped in Muren, first for a belated birthday visit to the Seeress and then at Sorgenfrei Castle, the intended final destination.

Here we see His Royal Highness driving his Rolls Royce in entourage with his staff and security. Next to him sits Miss Kitty Spice, the world renowned journalist reporter who joined him for the first two days of the trip. She then left to cover the fateful story of the Empress assassination in Britania only to rejoin later for an official interview with Grand Duke Lothair of Reichenthal.

The Duke of Swann arrives at the Duchess Donatella who heartily welcomed her friend at her Alpine Castle, Castillo Corvi.

The Duke of Swann took the liberty of delivering the water colour painting the Duchess purchased from the Duke's Art Exhibition which closed in July. Her Royal Highness was very excited to finally be able to hang it in her residence.

A close up of the water colour painting. The "political" alliance between the Duchess and the Duke of Swann has helped to boost the popularity of the Di Giorgio's Family in Romagna. The former exiled family used to rule the old Kingdom but they have been asked back and serve in many capacities as custodians of Romagnian history and serving in charitable causes.

From Romagna the Duke of Swann moved on to the small former Kingdom, now mediatized Grand Duchy of Reichenthal. Here he stopped for private reflection at the famous Statue of the Imperial Eagle of Unification.

The massive solid brass statue was originally intended as a gift from the people of Reichenthal to Emperor Christian and Empress Crystobel of the United Empire in 1995 but ended up never being delivered due to the Revolution. It now stands as a testament of Reichentalian craftsmanship but also as a haunting reminder of a bygone era and a very personal one for the Duke of Swann of his deceased aunt.

The Duke of Swann is greeted by his friend and very casual Head of the Reichenthal Electorate Dynasty, Grand Duke Lothair.

A last glance is shared as the two Royals prepare to leave for Castle Reichenthal together in the old Rolls Royce.

Time for some tea and sweet delicacies in the Grand Duke's study with his wife, as they also welcome Miss Kitty Spice.

Miss Spice was set to do an interview about the Grand Duke. This feature will be blogged at a later stage as well.

The Grand Duchess Azantha joined her husband for the interview. The Duke of Swann was scheduled for some business meeting leaving let them get on with the interview.

Later that evening the Duke of Swann was honoured with a banquet by the Royal Family of Reichenthal. The event was very informal by Royal standards although tiaras were required. No State Regalia like Orders of knighthood or ballgowns were required. Princess Sonja of Reichenthal was also present. The Duke of Swann at this stage insisted on seeing her in order to initiate negotiation with the Princess who at that stage was inciting a political opposition to the Syldavian Electorate in Reichenthal.

Also at the banquet was Grand Duchess Azantha's elder sister, the Shahbanou of Perlistan.

Reichenthal is world famous for all kinds of old-worldly crafts. The nation's carpenters for instance have through the ages been responsible for the creation of most of the Europan thrones. They also excel in the fine art of statuary. This early medieval statue is of the founding father of Reichenthal, the famous, Carl-Joshua the Great.

After yet another lengthy chat on all the Reichentalian arts and history the guests assembled in the "small throne room"  for the obligatory, group photo, especially for the media.

So the very eventful stop in Reichenthal ended with a feast and the Duke of Swann left the next morning for Muren. That part of the trip we will post on in next week's Memory Monday slot. See you then.

What's Up Wednesday (Dysart Thank You Dinner)

The Duke of Swann shared his birthday celebrations with his cousin the Crown Prince Imperial in September. This year's ball was kindly hosted by the Countess Dysart at her ancestral Castle of Glencoe in Scotney. To thank her for her gesture the Duke of Swann hosted a dinner at his Palace of Duke's Court and along with the Crown Prince Imperial's mother, the Empress Crystobel, gave her a lavish gift.

As the Duke and Empress welcomes Miss Balckwood curtsies in accordance with proper protocol.

The full compliment of guests included some friends of the Duke of Swann who couldn't attend the ball. From right; Miss Sable Blackwood the famous business woman and nightclub owner, Princess Marie-Elizabeth, Empress Crystobel, the Duke of Swann, the Countess Dysart and the Duke of Argyle.

The banquet table was bedecked to overflowing with the most incredible cuisine.

Then just before desert a box was placed before the Countess by a footman and the Duke of Swann stood up and made a short speech of gratitude for the Countess' hosting of the birthday ball. She then proceeded to open her gift which turned out to be a nineteenth century pearl a diamond choker which used to belong to an ancestress of the Countess, Princess Adelaide of Scotney.

The Countess Dysart did not hesitate to try out her new gift and is seen here talking with the Duke of Argyle. It was noted by the other guests that she was visibly taken with the handsome Duke whom she hadn't seen since they attended the same pre-school more than 20 years ago.

An official press photo for the newspapers show the host and his special guest wearing her spectacular gift of appreciation.
